For the first time this year, Emmett’s hit a fever flare, complete with mouth sores. This hasn’t happened in many months, which led us to believe that he may have successfully outgrown his fever disorder.
Typically, these cycles would hit about every 2 or 3 weeks and last about 10 days.

The flare up would include and fever and a mouthful of painful sores. As time went on, the fevers were lower but the sores got worse.

Out of nowhere, around the 1st of the this year, if I recall correctly, they just sorta stopped.

I have no idea what this means as far as future flare ups are concerned. Maybe they’re 6 months apart now? Who the hell knows.

The general consensus is that he’s not actually sick and these sores aren’t contagious, although we were concerned about that for awhile. It’s just some weird thing that a small subset of kids will develop and than very often outgrow.

If the past is any indication, we’re in for about a week or so of Emmett being very, very grumpy. Poor Emmett 🙁
