We finally made it home about 11am. We opted to reschedule Emmett’s appointment because there was no way to make the timing work.
This is a rather aggressive fever flare but fairly typical, aside from that.
If things don’t improve we’ll get him back in this week. The problem was that he was completely exhausted and we had almost 4 hours to kill. We couldn’t get in sooner and the pediatrician’s office is halfway between the Cleveland Clinic and home.
There was simply no practical way to make it work.
Emmett and Lizze have been asleep for a few hours now and desperately need their rest. Hopefully, they will both be feeling a bit better.
This is just one of the many difficult situations that special needs parents can find themselves in. Ideally, we would have made it to Emmett’s appointment. However, sometimes the stars must be aligned in just the right way, for everything to work out.
I think that this is one else of the reasons for me at least, that I’m often second day guessing my decisions.
Sometimes there is simply no clearcut, right or wrong answer.
Rob, has Lizzie ever been tested for Glycogen Storage Disease (GSD)?
