I thought it would be interesting and insightful to learn what you folks find the most challenging about Summertime?

For me personally,  I find it more challenging for numerous reasons.  Groceries are harder to maintain due to the kids eating at home instead of school.  Finding things that are #Autism friendly is also a challenge at times.

It’s also really exhausting because everything is constant and I no longer have that 8 hour break everyday.

What are some of the things that you find difficult or challenging? You don’t have to be a special needs parent to answer either.  Parenting in general, is challenging.  🙂

I first really noticed the pinch on groceries this year when Serenity was placed in homebound. Yeah, we qualify for reduced lunch, but if you're not at school you don't get it! She's also on a gluten free diet so her food isn't cheap. Apart from that, she drives her younger bother batty when they are both home (or he drives her batty). Serenity has ESY 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time. So they get out. After ESY we'll go to a movie once a week. I'd like to do the pool, but I have no help in getting her in and out of the pool while also wrangling my 6 year old ADHD/Autism angel. Can't do much outside cause the heat gets her cranky. Usually we just watch movies and eat popcorn.

I find that having activities outside of the home challenging. I feel the need now to try to fill up the day with things to do so that my son's screaming and constant talking and hand clapping does not drive me crazy or drive me to drink. lol. Even going to the store is an outing now. I just get weary sometimes to take him to certain places since he is so unpredictable and can have a tantrum or a major meltdown at he drop of a hat. Thank goodness my brother has a pool at his house. My son loves the pool. What I love about him is that it does not take alot to make him happy and content but I feel like I am cheating him by not filling up his time with ……..something to do
