I believe I can fly

I’ve said this many times before but I will say it again.  Emmett and Bella are a match made in heaven.

Bella is very well tempered and is the ying to Emmett’s more aggressive tempered yang. They’re like peanut butter and jelly, or magnets and paper clips.  They are simply made for each other.

However, they both suffer from the same problem.  That problem being the belief that they can fly.

Emmett is always jumping off of things in an attempt to take flight.  I admire his tenacity but I just don’t think he’s built for flight. Apparently,  Bella has the same problem.  Today,  I let her out side after Maggie was already outside.  She was so excited,  that she through caution to the wind.

In what appeared to be a momentary lapse in judgement, she attempted to take flight. Basically,  instead of just running down the stairs into three yard,  she leapt over the railing and literally flew over the steps.

She was like a reindeer taking flight on Christmas Eve,  only a bit less graceful.  Without question,  her landings need some work.

You know something?  As I’m writing this,  it’s occurred to me that I don’t know who’s the bad influence on who.

While Emmett lacks the wings needed for flight and Bella lacks the antlers and shiny red nose,  they both just never seem to give up on this fascination with flight.

I’m still on the fence about whether the admire this fascination,  this dedication to flying,  or fear it…
