I wanted to briefly update everyone as to the current status of Emmett‘s speech and OT therapies.

As you may recall, Emmett has been denied any further speech or OT because he hasn’t made enough progress and so the insurance company doesn’t think he will ever improve.  I don‘t think I need to say just how I feel about that.

Anyways,  I have formally filed for an appeal.  I figure that I will make every effort to go about this in the right way. The process was really easy and only took a few minutes over the phone.

Having said that,  I’m not afraid of making this as ugly for the insurance company as possible and in a very publish way. To many kids are being denied essential services due to micro management and Ohio’s lack of a mandatory covers get law.

Anyway,  I was told that I will receive a letter within 15 days with the findings of the appeals process.

I don‘t hold out much hope for this appeal but not much I can do..

**Thanks for reading**

If the appeal gets denied you should start a petition on change.org. Let everyone know the name of the insurance company and we will all sign it and repost. Might just work.

I feel your pain, my son was denied speech by our ins co when he was 3 (he's 13 now). I too tried to appeal, with the help from my doc, but was still denied. It's so frustrating, I don't know why ins co;s think they are doctors and know what's best. It's all about greed and money, sickening. Thank heaven for speech in the public schools, I'm certain it's saved my son (and my) sanity.
