I wanted to briefly update everyone as to the current status of Emmett's speech and OT therapies.
As you may recall, Emmett has been denied any further speech or OT because he hasn't made enough progress and so the insurance company doesn't think he will ever improve. I don't think I need to say just how I feel about that.
Anyways, I have formally filed for an appeal. I figure that I will make every effort to go about this in the right way. The process was really easy and only took a few minutes over the phone.
Having said that, I'm not afraid of making this as ugly for the insurance company as possible and in a very publish way. To many kids are being denied essential services due to micro management and Ohio's lack of a mandatory covers get law.
Anyway, I was told that I will receive a letter within 15 days with the findings of the appeals process.
I don't hold out much hope for this appeal but not much I can do..
