Elliott was a complete disaster this morning.  His anxiety is through the roof and he was refusing to go to school.

I’m not sure what his reasons were because all he was doing was screaming and crying. The poor guy is really struggling right now.  🙁

I hate sending him to school like that but he has to go.  His school is totally understanding and will help him through this.

Today is the last day of school before a four day weekend.  Looks like it will be a fun one…   Sigh..

My son had days like this as well. He has PDD as well as severe anxiety. The 2012 prediction, and something he heard while visiting a Catholic Church service, set him off for days. Last year, he had a day here at the house, where all he did was do what your son did. About 11 am, he was finally calm, but I kept him home anyway. Now, I know to send him even if it is 1 pm. And school gets out at 230. It doesn't help that Dave is 15 now, almost taller than me, and still acts like a 2 year old when upset. He is mentally, age 9.

My son gets anxiety too, but often at school. I find having a higher protein breakfast with less carbs is key. If I give him cereal or just bread and butter, he acts worse. Heavy pressure also helps. If you can recreate a version of the "squeeze machine" in Temple Grandin's movie and do that during high tension times, it might work. She had extreme anxiety and it helped her get through college.

That\’s a great idea. What\’s weird, is that in Elliott\’s case, he doesn\’t like the pressure. The therapist says it\’s likely do to his extremely low muscle tone.

He just worries about everything. It breaks my heart. :\'(

Thank you for sharing your ideas and experience 🙂

Been there with my daughter Sophia, good luck, Hope your weekend goes better then you think! Have you tried compression or weighted vests with Elliot? They really help my daughter.
