When Christmas pukes all over your house

Everything started out OK.  We woke up at the butt-crack of dawn by 3 little boys anxious to open their presents.

Gavin decided not to wait and tore through all of his presents before anyone else even got started.  He was completely overstimulated already moving at mach speed.

Shortly after the gift fiasco,  things really started going downhill.

Emmett spiked a fever again this morning and Lizze woke up with a horrible migraine once again. Elliott and I were doing just fine,  so I decided to take Elliott to my parents house for breakfast while everyone else went back to bed.

After breakfast, Elliott went to Cleveland with my parents to visit family.

I, on the other hand, went home to check on the rest of my sickies.

Lizze and Emmett were just waking up when I arrived and Gavin had been watching NetFlix in his room and chillin out.

I brought the presents from my parents house home and Emmett and Gavin tore into them. For the rest of the day, Gavin and Emmett played together in relative harmony.

As I sit here trying to write this, Elliott is arriving home from his trip to Cleveland and of course, he is complaining of a tummy ache. I got him dressed for bed and gave him his inhaler. He wanted to squishy couch tonight so I got that set up.

I got him situated on the couch and literally within a few seconds he started puking.  In fact,  it was all I could do to grab the closest thing around me to catch all of Elliott’s holiday spirit.

Since then,  I have had to catch his holiday spirit several times. He is miserable and in a great deal of discomfort. After a few hours,  I finally got him sleeping and hopefully he will remain that way until the morning.

I actually have been writing this post over the past few hours because I keep getting pulled away for one thing or another.

I hope you have fared better this Christmas day wherever you are.  I really hope Christmas was kind to all of you out there.  You should know that I consider all of you family and wish you and yours the absolute best.

I've read that Christmas and Autism do go well together for you. Wishing you all the best here for all the time. I know its really hard to be in your situation but I believe that your own family gives you the strength to do things to never thought you could do for them.

Christmas stress is not always the most fun. My wife was ill this Christmas with a sinus infection, so she was cranky the full way back and forth to my brother’s at Cincinnati. Fortunately my parents drove.

My wife is always stressed around the holidays because it is the anniversary of her parent’s separation, as well as the anniversary of when her father found out about his cancer. However, this makes it worse, especially since today she would have had work, and she really does love her new job.

Poor elliot. I've spent all christmas day with a migraine myself, wayy over stimulated being around a huge family with the t.v on loud and drunk people all around. I ended up passing out in the other room for a few hours and woke up still with my head hurting. :/

If he's still puking, try to see if he can handle a little ginger ale. Warm, flat gingerale works best since the carbonation can irritate the stomach if it's that sensitive. It's the only thing that helps me…that and living next to the toilet for a few hours. @_@
